Mom’s Club: 2010 St. Nicholas (Mikuláš)
St. Nicholas (Mikuláš), is a traditional December holiday not only popular in the Czech and Slovak Republics, but also in the Czech and Slovak community in Twin Cities. The availability of Sokol Hall for this celebration allows us to have enough space to fit all families with children, tables for traditional crafts and a stage for our favorite band. At 4 p.m., our celebration will start with crafts for whole family and then will enjoy puppet theatre Bylo jednou jedno loutkove divadlo. We will have dinner together at Christmas decorated tables, sing popular Christmas carols by the Christmas tree, and await to see if St. Nicholas (Mikuláš), Angel (Andel/Anjel), and the Devil (Čert) will pay another visit this year. Please come join us at this special occasion that signals the coming of Christmas.
When: December 4th, 2010 (Saturday) at 4: 00 PM
Where: SOKOL HALL, 383 W Michigan St, St Paul, MN 55102

Families are invited to come to CSPS (Sokol) Hall at 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to learn how to make spring whips (pomlazka/bič), decorate eggs, and enjoy traditional games and food (potluck lunch). This event is co-sponsored by Czech and Slovak Sokol Minnesota, West 7th Neighbors, and Czech and Slovak Cultural Center (Mom’s Club) who will share their wonderful Easter and spring traditions with all attending families.
